Needed to wait on my laundry nearby and was craving a beer. The bartender was super friendly and I enjoyed a nice beer on the patio.

I'll say the quiet part out loud: It's a local dive bar. There's FOUR fried food options: Wings, chicken fingers, fish, all with fries, and Coconut Shrimp. The 17 wings came dry with no veggies, or any type of sauce (on the side or on top). Don't expect a cocktail menu. All that said, you come here to do Friday Karaoke or just to have a few cheap, non-fancy drinks with friends and friendly staff. If you come during 'non-Karaoke hours', expect a few regulars.

I hosted my 30th birthday here recently in the upstairs space and had the best time! Alice was so wonderful and accommodating and made planning the party so easy, including letting us come in ahead of time to decorate and make the space our own. She served us during the party and was very kind and attentive the entire time and just overall made it a super pleasant experience. I'd definitely host another event here. She also was very kind in letting us bring our own pizza and birthday cake, which worked great for us. And shout out to Yue who was super kind and helpful in the planning and takedown process as well. Thanks so much for such a great experience!

I had an amazing first experience at Alcoe Place in Parliament! I was with my man and couple of my co-worker. The vibe was incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. Alice Place is hands down the best spot for karaoke. Pablito, the DJ, was fantastic—such a fun and talented guy with an incredible voice. I had an absolute blast! Plus, their fries and chicken wings are absolutely delicious!

Update: patios are now open! Neighbourhood bar with welcoming patrons. (Lots of regulars…. Arrive a stranger, leave friends). Your hosts Alice (owner) and Claudia and Cubby (although I have only been going here for a few weeks) are fantastic… non judgemental, genuine and friendly (names used with their permission). Every night is good, but Friday night is a blast with Karaoke starting at 9pm until approximately last call. The karaoke host is Pablo. He is excellent and a fantastic singer. Be forewarned, make sure you don’t follow Pablo . I would highly recommend this place. Please note like any place… there is always a few issues and politics, but I have had a fantastic time every time I’ve gone here. Like the sign says, the fireplace is real and you can warm up inside. There is a patio out back in the summer. There is also a small front patio, great for people watching. These photos were taken (with permission) just at opening so the place looks empty…. but in doing so, I’m able to show the whole interior/patio.. They have food, but I have never tried it. Be sure to meet John, a local legend and an excellent ambassador for Alice’s place!

Amazing place! The atmosphere was small and cozy, the people were welcoming and friendly, and the owner was also great. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. Karaoke night was a joy to watch, so many good singers. Will be coming back here!

Stumbled upon Alice’s place for the Karaoke and were welcomed by a familiar cast of regulars that didn’t hesitate to make us one of their own. We stayed way longer than expected and walked out feeling like we were leaving a house party at a lifelong friend’s place. The bar itself is small but their amazing staff never leave you thirsty. We picked this spot because it was close by but I would gladly travel far to enjoy another night at Alice’s place

Loved the cozy vibe , will definitely return whenever I come to the city. The servers & staff are such a pleasure to speak with.
